Ramatuelle - the village

Ramatuelle is worth a trip all year round. The townscape of the medieval village is characterized by narrow, in the center circularly arranged small streets. Some of the vaults and arches span the streets. To the east of the village is the 16th century Saracen gate.
The Notre-Dame church was built in the 16th century. Originally, the church tower was a watchtower on which a campanile was later built. The portal dates from the 17th century.

Within the main travel season, which runs from March to October, all the restaurants and bars are open. So there is a lot of life in the village. Every Thursday and Sunday there is a weekly market on the Place de l'Ormeau. Here you can get everything what you want. From food to clothes to jewelery and old paintings there is something for every taste. Worthwhile is a look at the market from above. To do this you go up the driveway to the Mairie (Town Hall) and have a beautiful view of the market, the village, the surrounding nature and the sea.

If you come out of season, you will not find the summer variety on the market. In most cases, the market only consists of the obligatory vegetable stall directly in front of the village fountain. Ramatuelle is then almost in hibernation and one finds fantastic peace, especially during an evening walk through the narrow winding streets.
